2. Camp Price Support Center Army Base
Camp Price Support Center Army Base is located in the beautiful city of Illinois state’s Granite City.
Camp Price Support Center Army Base is also known as Charles M. Price Support Center (CMPSC) in the local community.
Currently, Charles M. Price Support Center army installation is now in use; it’s a former base.
History
Before World War II, Currently, Charles M. Price Support Center was Granite City Engineer Depot.
On 1st August 1942, Charles M. Price Support Center (CMPSC) opened and started operation under the United States Army.
The history of Camp Price Support Center Army Base is quite long. In the 1980s, for Congressman Melvin Price, this base was renamed lastly as Charles M. Price Support Center.
Although after several redesigns, Charles M. Price Support Center army base did not last long because, in 1997, this base was closed by congress’s approval.
Since 2001, Charles M. Price Support Center army base has been used for various recreation facilities, including the U.S. Army Reserve Center and YMCA.
